𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬

Hello darlings, I hope you all are safe and well.

I recently paged through my library app, in search of something sweet and sunny to read when my eye caught the beautiful illustration on the cover of Up, Up and Away!: Mattie’s Magical Animal Dreamworld #1 by Lynn Bedford Hall and Jane Heinrichs. So, I borrowed the book right away and enjoyed every moment of reading it.

The story follows a girl named Mattie, who lives on a farm with her parents. As she has no siblings or friends, she feels lonely and isolated, but this all change through one act of kindness. Throughout the novel we follow Mattie through her dreamworld adventures with her new animal friends.

If this premise did not give you enough reason to try this novel here are two reasons why you should give it a try. Firstly, Jane Heinrichs illustrations are colourful, sweet and aesthetically pleasing, I would absolutely love to put some her illustrations on my walls. Secondly, the story is short but so fulfilling to read. The character is a cinnamon role character at heart and lets us just say I would love Ellie, the elephant as my friend. The writers, Lynn Bedford Hall and Jane Heinrichs did a beautiful job in creating characters and a setting inspired by South Africa.

After reading this book, I was left with a warm fuzzy feeling and that is why I gave it 5 stars. I will also continue reading the series.

So, some of you may feel children’s book are for children and do not want to try out this title and it is fine. If you are a parent with little ones give or a child at heart, I urge you to give this one a try.
